Physical strength

Did you know that your muscular strength is, besides VO2 max and muscle mass, one of the most important longevity parameters?

Having strong muscles throughout your body is essential for several reasons. Examples include reducing the risk of chronic pain - especially in the back - or increasing energy for everyday tasks such as housework or gardening. Furthermore, leisure activities, hobbies or sports such as hiking, cycling or dancing become almost impossible without sufficient muscle strength.

Strong muscles aren't just about fitness; they play a vital role in maintaining independence and preventing injury.

Testing your strength provides valuable insight into your longevity-potential, helping you address potential weaknesses before they become limitations

What do we measure?

  •  Maximum isometric strength: Measures how strong your muscles are during static contraction. Overall strength is a relevant indicator of longevity and independence in older age.
  •  Muscular power of your legs: Measures the explosive strength of the muscles in your legs, helping you understand how efficiently you can generate force during activities like sprinting, jumping, or quickly standing up, which is crucial for maintaining agility and preventing falls as you age.

After assessing your strength, we combine it with the results of your body composition measurement, for most precise recommendations.
