RMR Measurement

Optimized Weight Management

A healthy body weight is closely linked to longevity. Understanding your resting calorie needs is a key factor in achieving your health goals.

The Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) shows you how many calories you burn at rest. With this information, you can develop targeted strategies to reach and maintain your ideal weight.

What is Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)?

The RMR measurement is a core component of our tailored nutritional counseling. Insights gained from this measurement are crucial for devising the right dietary strategy on your longevity journey.

RMR determines the number of calories your body requires at rest to maintain basic functions such as breathing, circulation, and cell production. Factors such as age, sex, body composition, genetics, and thyroid function all affect RMR. Muscle mass also plays a significant role, as muscle tissue burns more calories at rest compared to fat tissue.

The RMR measurement is an indispensable tool for effective and personalized health and weight management.

Why is Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Important?

In the context of your personalized nutritional counseling at AYUN, the RMR measurement provides valuable insights into your calorie needs, helping you achieve your health goals efficiently.

We use advanced indirect calorimetry technology, measuring oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production in your breath. This method is considered the gold standard and provides precise data on your calorie requirements.

By knowing your RMR, you can tailor your nutrition and fitness plan to achieve optimal weight management and overall health.

Benefits of the RMR Measurement at a Glance:

Precision: Discover your exact calorie needs at rest.

Targeted Strategies: Adjust your weight management plan to your health goals.

Efficient Weight Management: Use precise data to achieve your health objectives.

How the RMR Measurement Works:

Important: Arrive fasting. No food, coffee, caffeine, or cigarettes in the last 10 hours before your appointment.

Additionally, avoid intense physical activity in the 12 hours prior to the appointment. Wear comfortable clothing for maximum comfort.

During the measurement, you will lie back comfortably; the measurement is taken while you are in a relaxed position.

Special equipment will capture and analyze your breath. The measurement takes about 10 to 30 minutes while you breathe normally into a mask. The software calculates your basal metabolic rate using the collected data and established algorithms.
